spudders when hot 200

I have a volvo 240 dl (1989), but i need a little help on it peformace , it seems when it is hot here and the car runs about 30 min. it starts to spudder, If i step on the gas all the way to the floor it gose away for a min. but then comes right back.
And the last thing is if i shut it off , it will not start back up for about an hour,
Do you have any idea what could be wrong with it, I love the car but don't have the money to keep taking it into the shop to get fixed,
