Keep it 200 1992

Def keep it man! Totally agree with Aye Roll. I have to say that I seen some pretty sweet looking 240s with exterior and interior modifications that still retain the classic lines of the car without a "ricing it out" look. I have also seen some 240 pics that look horrific and not Volvo at all. Personally, I would start with suspension mods such as IPD sway bars and upper/lower chassis braces and perhaps some new shocks/struts. 15" or 16" Volvo RWD rims would look really tight and even adding sport springs would set the car apart from the masses. Granted, ride quality would be sacrificed a bit though. There are some 17" rims (Volvo and aftermarket) that look great on a 240 and I'd love a set of Titans or the famed rare Polaris rims...someday perhaps. Electric fan conversion and a new camshaft are all reasonable and a larger diameter performance exhaust will help in the HP dept especially with a manual. The 240 is obviously not a rocket, but with some suspension mods your brick will feel faster since you are more in control. A rear wing (in my opinion) can add a sporty feel but again it needs to match the lines. It took me over a year to find an original factory Volvo 240 rear wing from Europe with the mounting kit but it looks really nice on the car and no drilling required. I saw one of those obnoxious aluminum "race" spoilers drilled into a Ford Taurus and I'm sorry but it was aweful...clearly did not fit the car!! Stay away from the coffee can exhaust crap but going with a high-flow system such as a Magnaflow or even just one rear turbo muffler with a nice tip will add some HP and a nice finish instead of that S-pipe. Also check out turbobricks.com...another great resource for ideas.
Best,
-Adam
