Fuel Injection Question. (Lean condition) 900 1993

Hopefully someone can give me some input. While doing some spirited driving under 10 lbs.boost I let off the accelerated for a split second to facilitate the next gear, when i'm back on the gas again with boost back up, the engine exhibits a little momentary detonation. It seems to me that the fuel injection is not rebounding fast enough when i let off the gas and back on again. I also see my air/fuel ratio meter still on the lean side after i'm back on the gas again. Boost comes back instantly. Keep in mind this all happens in a split second.

Is there anything I can do to remedy this situation?
I've already installed a new pressure regulator and fuel filter.
Also thinking of installing rising rate fuel pressure regulator.

My vehicle currently has mvp 3" exhaust system which is probably why my boost rebounds quick. (very little lag)
