Volvo Diet

hey all!
i'm looking to take a few pounds off my volvo this summer. with the a/c on it's just struggling for power, and the best thing i figure i can do is remove as much weight as i can. it's a 1986 245 (240 wagon). the fold down seats are kinda neat, but i never have more than one passenger, so i'm just going to get rid of them and maybe make some sort of shelf instead. but i'm not too familiar with the structure of the car, and where weight can be removed. i've already taken out the spare, but other than the thing with the rear seats i'm not sure what else to do. thanks for any help you guys can provide!
