AC pressure too high? Any ideas what to do? 200 1987

I have to make this short because i'm being "watched" for internet access at work.

I got the car converted to r134. The ac crapped out. I bought the top-off kit and tried to take a pressure reading. the gauge read low, so i think i put some more in. Then i realized that the hose wasn't properly attached and took another reading. At this point, the gauge said 70 psi (low pressure side). Did I add anything to the system? is it at the proper pressure? will i damage anything if I run it at 70psi?

oh, and it turned out that the problem was just a fuse. I should know by now to check the simplest possible solution first!!
