Fuel Tank Baffle 700

Hi all,

I recently replaced the in-tank pump in my '88 745Ti and noticed the baffle spot weld had come loose and the only thing holding it somewhat in place was the fuel sender/pump assembly. Has anyone had any luck using JB Weld or a similar product to get this thing permanently affixed again? Has Volvo ever had a recall for this, I have heard of it before and it seems like there would be a safety issue if the tank got too low and the car hesitated as the gas vacated the scene causing someone to get impacted? Thanks for any comments/advice/help you can provide :-)
