I figured it out 700

Yes, it's the hose between the airbox and the turbo. It was really spongey and there was a big part of the outside hose all blistered and cracked from the heat of the exhaust manifold. I temporarily reinforced it from the inside with a sheet of aluminum and it solved the problem.

FCPGroton is great! a $200 hose at the dealer is $60 with them.
