Clutch Cable replacement? 200 1980

It's time for a new clutch cable on the '80 245...

I got a few questions.

A while back, I remember someone saying that getting this item from the dealer was worth the extra cash because it worked a lot better then a generic brand. Any truth to this?

When I put the new one in, do I have to have any kind of allignment tool or something? (I haven't done this before, but that has never stopped me from doing anything else on my Volvo.)

Other then that, this looks like a pretty straight forward job. Anything I should look out for?

Thanks as always.
