Can Dexron III Be Used To Flush Transmission? 200

I went down to Wal Mart to buy some transmission fluid to flush/fill my '88 240 out. I bought a couple gallons of Wal Mart brand (Super Tech) Dexron III. When I got home I noticed in the Haynes manual that this car is listed as taking Dexron II. Can I use the Dexron III to conduct the flush and fill of the transmission or do I need to go find Dexron II?
