Bleeding Front Brakes 900 1992

When I bleed the brakes today I was unaware that letting the pedal go to the floor could damage the seals in the master cylinder. Could this be the possible reason there is low pressure at the front bleeder screws. What would be the easiest way to tell if I damaged the master cylinder without rigging up some fancy plugs? I'll kick myself if I need a new master cylinder.
