AW 70/71 3 speed auto box with lockup O/D 200 1989

All the shift points depend on how hard the acceration is, this is controlled by the kickdown cable. 4th gear which is also known as overdrive will only engage if the OD solonoid is activated.(dash arrow light out).

Lockup is something different as this refers to the torque converter going to it's "straight through" mode. This occurs at about 46mph and is felt only as a slight bumb and a drop in RPM of only 200 or so, it is not like a gear change at all. The 240's do not normally have the AW with the "L" or lock up feature.


At 60mph in 3rd you will be around 3500.
in 4th well under 3000
