Converter Split Flange 900 1993

The three bolts holding the converter flange to the downpipe flange rusted through and the metal ring seal disintegrated. My car now sounds like a motor boat. I picked up a ring seal and now I have to bolt the pipes together. The existing loose flanges are in bad shape and I'd have to drill the rusted bolts out in order to re-use. Has anyone used the two-bolt split flanges that can be found at auto stores? I think it may be easier to just cut off the old flanges and use the split flanges. These split flanges come in different sizes, 1-3/4" to 2", 2" to 2-1/4". It looks like the existing pipe is 2". Should I go with the smaller or bigger one?

Thanks,
Bob
