Crunching....Creaking.....Grining.... Left Front Supension 200 1990

Where or what is the most likely source for a creking front suspenion? Rocking the car up and down produces no end to this medely of sounds. I tried to isolate with a stethescope, but the noise resonates throughout the entire suspension. I do think it may be louder near the rear bushing housing of the A frame, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

I raised the wheel off the ground and placed a pry-bar under the tire to check the ball-joint. I could not detect any play in the ball-joint, only squished the tire. Is this the expected result? I thought I would see a litte slack in the ball-joint.

Dan
