It will not stop raining down here in Homestead, FL. I have been waiting for the rain to stop so I could bleed the brakes after installing the brake master cylinder. I made a half-arsed attempt to hand bleed it before installing it, but freared I did that wrong. I installed it a few days ago and filled the resevoir with fluid but it came pissing down rain so I left it filled for two days. This morning I headed out to bleed the brakes and it....began to rain! So out of curiosity I decided to spark up the engine to see if maybe the hand bleeding went right. The engine idled rough for a moment...what is that about? After starting it up the peddle was perhaps a few milimeters lower than before and not quite as tight but it works very well and seemed to be doing a superb job of braking. I drove it around the block to see how well it was braking and all seemed well. So I took it out onto US1 and drove into the Florida Keys. I headed down to Marathon...about half way to Key West...and turned around. Everything seems fine and dandy. I am thinking I ought to save the brake bleeding for when I get some more cash, late this fall, or at least when it dips below jungle temperature/humidity here. What do you think am I safe running on the old fluid in the lines for a few more months and am I a dolt? Anyway thanks for all those who helped. I am out of money now and that R12 AC with no charge is making my drives a real bear. At least it rolls down the road and stops at the intersections.
