There is no "correct" style or location for the antenna (just like there isn't for the mirrors). Here's where it is on mine, best as I can describe it:

Imagine a line extending from the tailfin chrome forward, and also extend the rear curved edge of the hood out to the right. Where those lines meet is where the antenna is, well down on the side of the fender about 6" above the chrome spear. The one I have retracts fully down into the wheel well.
