turnsignal fit: curvature of front fenders 120-130

This may sound like a silly question: are all front fenders ("wings" to you Brits) completely interchangable on Amazons? Consider this: in my garage there are 3 pairs of metal fenders - - 1 set in original tan primer with volvo factory stickers (yes, I am fortunate - thanks Duane M.), and 2 other sets from 1966 donor cars. The issue is that the turnsignal cutouts on the donor car fenders don't quite match the actual curvature of late-style turnsignals (clear & yellow plastic lenses with metal bezels). The Volvo fenders however offer a perfect fit.

Note: the donor fenders don't show signs of being hit/repaired, and all have the same type and degree of mis-fit - the center of the turnsig bezel stands off from the fender by several mm. (Anyone else notice this on their car?)

So, do I have 4 aftermarket replacement fenders (with poor fit) from the same non-OEM stamping molds, or did "early" fenders have a different curvature (to match early-style glass turnsignals), or . . . ??????
