Because we can :-) Why do we do all the performance mods, stock is just fine right?

Being able to use a cheap very easy to get (any junk yard) 5 speed is a much better option then 4 speed + OD which can be expensive and harder to locate. Parts are going to be cheaper for the t5 too.

Also lets say you rally/race, it would be nice to have a spare or two along. Much easier with the T5. You can get gearing to better match your needs too.
