If no one disagreed how much fun would we have? I base my "total disappointment" description of the S90 on my personal experience only, not on any inside knowledge that Volvos in general are junk. I bought my first Volvo in 1968 and never looked back. I've had eleven of them over the years and always enjoyed their dependability, safety and overall worth. Then along came the S90 and my trips to the shop, fourteen in all under the warranty provisions. Oil leaks, AC problems, sunroof maladies, door panel material separation, various module failures (two of which left me stranded) and, most notably, brakes. After the warranty period expired, every bushing in the front end disintegrated, water pump failed, power seat went awry and the sunroof illness reappeared. When the car was actually on the road I enjoyed every minute of driving it. I certainly liked its comfort and performance but did not really have any faith in it. I was always waiting for the next problem. The most disappointing factor was the treatment I received from my local dealer and Volvo NA. I was a repeat customer at this dealership. They admitted that my car had more than its share of problems but the only offer of assistance I got from them was to trade for a '99 S80 giving me what amounted to wholesale for my car and a pittance of a discount on the S80. After reviewing the S80's track record I thank whoever runs the universe that I didn't make that deal. Volvo NA didn't even want to talk to me. I finally traded the car in 2001 and sleep much better. I stand by my "total disappointment" criticism of my S90 because that's exactly what it was. I wish every S90 owner well with his or her car and am happy that all of them are not like mine. My experience was a disaster and that's all I have to base my opinion on, my experience. Thanks for reading.
