Another electrical freakout 140-160 1973

Today's weirdness:

Driving home from work in the rain Sunday evening, the turn signals started clicking at something like quintuple speed when I used them. Hmmmm.

Got home: dead battery.

The amp light never illuminated. The alternator (It's the French one) was rebuilt 18 months or so ago.

I'll jump-start it tomorrow and see whether it holds a charge.

Anyone have any theories? Voltage regulator perhaps? Time to pony up for a Delco alternator conversion?
