I have also posted this in my original thread "Volvo Mods" and decided I would post it here as well to get further comments and response.
Hello Lance,
First off I want to say that I really appreciate yours and everyone elses comments and willingness to give there advice here on the boards.
I am looking for the simple mods that will help give my car that little edge in mainly looks (My first and biggest area of motivation) and if possible (which not I am seeing it probably isn't) performance and handling. That being said I also like to have an idea of what the car will look like after I do the different modifications or changes. Which leads me to this 1) do you know of anyplace I can find pictures of 960's that have had any upgrades done and 2) can you post a picture of your car so that I can see what you have done to it.
You said that you had put 16"turbo rims on yours, what era and style rims will fit the 94 960? I am assuming you used Volvo turbo rims, so what style turbo rim did you use?
As far as the brakes go, the times that I have driven the car I have never felt as if the brakes were really inadequate they just lacked the initial bite that I like brakes to have. I have been perusing the retailers such as IPD and euro sport tuning and they have a descent selection of cross-drilled and/or slotted rotors to replace the 11" stock rotors. This combined with the braided hose and a better pad will provide me with a little better bite that I am looking for. I just want to be clear that the brakes do work fine and stop the car quite well.
I really do not want to get into replacing cams and such that is more involved than I want to get right now. I am going to do other little things like a sport exhaust system and a after market air filter.
tjts1 was talking about a sticking airflap thermostat or something (I am referencing this without looking at his post again) that I am going to look into and see if it is sticking or not. he said that his was and when he fixed it the car showed improved performance on the lowend.
Any responses or comments will be greatly appreciated.
Neil
