240 DL James Bond Smokescreen 200 1989

I think something very bad happened this morning to my poor 240 DL wagon.

I'd been having some oil leakage around the oil cap so I picked up an additional o-ring and put it on the cap along with the old one to make sure it sealed.

As I traveled to work this morning, I got about 1/4 mile when I heard a rather loud POP under the hood. Stopped to see if the oil cap had blown, but it was Ok. Unfortunately, the more I drove the more oil smoke I saw pouring out of the tail pipe, and it has now reached James Bond proportions.

Hadn't thought about the possibility that something was generating pressure sufficient to push the oil out around the cap and that pressure would want to find another way out... anybody have any clue as to what horrible injustice I've just done to my 240?

Definitely Monday...

Thanks all,

Todd Lockhart
