Identifying which Engine Harness Fits Which Cars. 700

Is there any way to tell from the wiring harnesses which ones go to which cars. I've inhereted numbers harnesses for both turbo and non-turbo and usually some have the Volvo tag on them, but most of the others do not. There are some numbers printed on a red sleeve on one of the connectors. Could these numbers be part of the identification process? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
