Getting closer, more clues, reward offer still good... 200 1984

OK y'all, this is Hannah in Portland, Maine again. I have ascertained that it is not my idle control motor, that is good. I am now down to a choice between my air mass meter and the distributor itself (my timing belt is brand new and dead on accurate.) I am a student and 1,000 miles from home and getting very frustrated. The Deamon Car has now developed severe difficulty in starting on some days and on others starts TOO quickly, like the engine is hot and it's brand new. Some days it just spins the starter and doesn't turn over, and other's it's like there is gas sitting in the injector ready to go. The idle remains however, consistantly very rough.

Getting closer, but also getting tired. I'm a little girl who is tired of wrestlin' this and doesn't have 300 to spend on an air mass meter and ALSO 300 on the distributor.

Thank you guys so much for all your suggestions...

Hannah
