Your car does not have distributor points. They stopped that about 20 years ago. How in the world did you measure the wear on the internals of a distributor cap or rotor? Never heard of that being done.

Those parts just get replaced as part of a normal tune up and if in doubt just replace them. Not worth inpecting and fussing over. If the black cover looks bad replace it too. The fact that it looks damaged probably indicates that your cap and rotor are long overdue for replacement. You also check our plugs and wires too.
