Fender Rust Concerns 200 1986

Mac .....

We are in the process of putting a brand new set of front fenders on "Ole-Reliable" and what we are doing should help the rust problem of ANY front fender. First we used "Seam Sealer" and went over all, places where there were two or more pieces of metal coming together and loaded any separations full of seam sealer ... I think we used a tube and a half on both front fenders ..... then after that set up, we sprayed the entire inner surfaces of the fender and the area where the fender is exposed in the door opening with "Rock Guard" ... To top it all off, I am on the lookout for a pair of vinyl fender liners from a 240 which will fit into the 122 fenders without any problem .... have friends in the local Vintage Volvo Club who have done this successfully and that should solve the rusties permanently.

Hope this helps ....
