It sounds like your compressor clutch windings are bad. The clutch then has too much current draw and it blows the 30 amp fuse. My clutch coil died today and has the same symptoms. I measured the current draw and it was around 60 amps! I am trying to find a used coil to replace the bad one. You would be better off to replace the whole compressor with the clutch and coil because of the leaks in your old compressor. The compressor in my car isn't leaking so hopefully I'll get away with just the coil replacement. Good luck with your brick!
