Boost makes oil leak from the cam cover gasket? 700 1991

I recently discovered that oil was leaking from my cam cover gasket. I assumed at first it was something more serious because oil smoke was behind me after every time I turboboosted the engine. It turns out it was oil leaking from the cam cover gasket onto the exhaust manifold and down pipe, making a nice plume of smoke. HOWEVER, why would the oil be forced from the cam cover gasket just at those times, when I came off of boost? I replaced the gasket and no more oil leak (seems like the little acorn nuts were screwed down too tight, compressing the gasket too much), but I fear that there is pressure coming from somewhere it shouldn't. I examined the oil return pipe and it is dry as a bone at the top, and only a little oily (not dripping) at the bottom. Could it be that the oil return pipe is blocked?
