Best Vacuum Line Material? 200 1981

I have the intake manifold off my 81 to do a wiring harness. Eight months ago I replaced all the vacuum lines so I was surprised to find that some had already stiffened up and taken a set. So I'm going to replace them all again while I have it apart. What's the best kind of vacuum line and where can it be bought? I've been using the standard rubber type from Car Quest, but I'd like to find something that will last longer before it stiffens, cracks, splits, and disconnects. Thanks.
