Consider installing a relay system. The current feeding either the high or low beams flows a long way. Battery - connector - headlight relay - dipping relay - bulb. There is voltage drop. The low beam path also goes through the bulb failure warning relay.

A relay system basically lets the wire to the bulb close a relay, which has 10 gauge wire to allow current to flow battery - fuse - relay contacts - light. I understand that there is significant improvement when the bulb can draw its max power.
