Hello all,
I have two sticky calibers on my 91 744, one being the rear driver-side and the other being the front passenger-side.
I have notice my rear caliber(s) warping more and more over time(shifter wobbles back and forth when i brake). When i had it in to a garage for a tire change, the technician told me that the rear driver-side caliber was dragging, as one pad was worn much more then the other(this technician also over tightened my front wheels and warped my rotors.. GGRR).
The front passenger-side started misbehaving a few weeks ago. I slammed on the brakes at a toll, when i sped up again, the car wasn't shifting into 3rd(auto) when it normally would. When the steering wheel started shaking like crazy, i realized that it wasn't the tranny misbehaving, it wasn't shifting bacause it was pushing a stuck caliber.
So my question is whether i should try to rebuild those calibers (if it is possible to do so), or should i simply buy new?/rebuilt?/used? ones. Is rebuilding something that should be done before they start sticking?
Also, when the front wheel starting shaking, i didn't stop. After spending an hour at my destination, my drive home was without power steering... there was a puddle of PS fluid under my car the next day. I assume the intense wheel wobble blew out my rack??? Anyone ever experience this?
Thanks in advance for advice on the calibers or rack..
