Turbo Manifold Concerns 200 1986

Hey guys, I was doing some research on www.volvoworld.com on their engine descripotion section, and I read in a section that the B230 series engines came in two different types, a high compression type B230 "E" and a low compression version B230 "F". Now, theoretically, it should be possible to swap exhaust manifolds on the naturally aspirated B230F for a turbo'd B230FT manifold shouldn't it?

Or were there differences in the heads?

Also, were the diesel engines ever turbo'd?

Just wondering, cause i'm deeply considering going for the turbo once my motor dies... i do have a backup B230F saran-wrapped in my garage.

See y'alls later
