Auxillary cooling fan 900 1991

Old auxillary cooling fan on my 1991 940 T had been seized in spring 2003. Replaced with new but never checked. Last Thursday car started to overheat at idle with AC on, stereo in 100 plus degrees. New fan never came on. Followed instructions on FAQ and checked wires at sensor and got 14.1 volts. Jumped wires at sensor. I got 13.8 volts at fan connection and 0 volts when I pulled the sensor wires apart so I "assume" sensor and relay are OK. Fan still did not come on. Wires at connection are contacting. Fan is grounded. Any advice before I return the fan to the dealer for another one?

Thanks
