No braking effect on 940 900

I have a diesel 940 with a braking problem.
The first time the vehicle brakes is fine from then on the brake pedal is very hard to depress. If one waits a while its okay for one more use of the foot pedal then hard next time again.
Had this problem before and took off the valve, not the one on the servo but the one way valve between the "T" piece, and a thin pipe.Blew down it and all was okay. This is some 2 years ago. Hasn't worked this time.
Took thin pipe off when engine running and idleing dropped and went very lumpy.
Replace pipe engine idle still lumpy so switched engine off.
Since then cannot start engine at all!
Help.
