lubricating door handle - difficult pulling action (88 240GL) 200 1988

Hi. Earlier posts helped me remove the door panel. (Thanks!) Now I need to lubricate the door handle and power window mechanism. With the door handle, it's getting difficult to pull it up and open the door. I've sprayed some WD240 around on some of the moving parts and can't really tell if I've done anything. Any advice?
