Yea, as Dan says, just bust up the innards and make sure you get it all dumped out or it will rattle like the devil. I left behind a quarter sized piece and the rattling drove me nuts so had to pull it again to dump out that piece. Ran mine with not cat for 6 years until I needed to replace the exhaust system and then put on a new one. If you live where they check exhaust to pass inspection, of course you'll fail as the EPA bureaucrats frown on running with no CC.
