drivetrain diagnosis...?? 200 1987

i've an 87 245 with 5 spd. i bought it recently for 1500, no rust ;) the clutch/tranny has issues, and i will try to give the symptoms. when starting from a stop, if you give much gas there is a very pronounced bucking/kachunking side to side (mounts giving out? tranny?engine?) i haven't experienced that since right after i got it, because if i slowly engage the clutch with little gas, then slowly give more gas, it's fine. even after the clutch is engaged, though, there is a shake with too much gas (in 1st at low speed). There is also more conventional clutch slippage most often encountered from 2nd-3rd and 1st-2nd, no shaking, just higher revs than vehicle speed would dictate. shifting into reverse is sometimes problematic too, but if it wont shift, then you put it in neutral and pump the clutch pedal, then try again, it works. someone suggested a worn synch. for that, i think.
i appreciate and am impressed by your help, thanks.
