Cruise Control removal 200 1987

I recently disconnected the vaccum hoses in the engine compartment for my '87 240 after installing a set of strut tower to firewall braces. I havn't reconnected them yet because I'm trying to decide the best place to remount it. Will having the the hoses disconnected adversly affect the engine performance? Also, if I were to remove it all together would I have to reroute any of the vaccum hoses. That is, is the unit stand alone or is the vacuum hose configuration for the cruise control necessary for the overall performance of the car?

Thanks,

Neuby
