My '84 has the same problem, and the brake failure light comes on too.
I haven't fixed it yet because of other reasons, BUT it very well could be your front regulator that sits down below the AMM area.

8 lines coming in/out of it and it is only the size of a mini-twinkie.

FCP sells a replacement for cheap, easy to install, but don't strip the fittings, they like to do that.

This is what is wrong with mine, brake fluid is added more frequently because of it.
