Air condition is making screeching noise 700 1992

I own a recently purchased '92 740 Turbo Wagon(137,000 Miles) and the AC is blowing cold air nicely, but it makes a screeching noise coming from the right passenger side dashboard area every once in awhile. Once I shut it off and then turn it on again the noise may go away, but it then starts up again.
