Door Holder worn out.? Fixes?? 200 1990

Does anyone out there have a "home remedy" fix for the worn-out door holder problem we all eventually get on our 240's. I have tried a few things, but none of them hold up for very long. The last "fix" I tried was some tie-wraps around the stop mechanism. Worked for a few days and then forget it. Swapping the hinges is a big job and the door alignment is never the same afterwards. (don't ask how I know) I'd rather live with it.
