Dash rubs against windshield causing noise 700

Surely others are experiencing the same thing on their 740's. The front edge of my dash has been rubbing up against the the bottom of the windshield causing this creaking noise that is driving me nuts. Fluctuations of temperature only aid in how much noise it makes. The contact/noise happens at 6 or 7 points along the front edge of the dash, and is worse on rough streets than the freeways. A stiff modded suspension doesn't help, but this will be changing soon. I was thinking of inserting thin shims of black delrin in between the two as a possible solution. I've seen a lot of the interior trim pieces come with a piece of black tape along the edge where it contacts another piece to eliminate or reduce rubbing noise. I would be interested to learn what anyone else has tried. This is really affected overall driving pleasure.
