Overheating 240 200 1984

My 240, 2.1l, SU-HIF carb, 4+OD, w/o AC, 260,000km+, is still overheating.

I have installed used but clean, 3-row rad (Plastic/Alu), timing is OK and dwell is about 50.
Not leaking anywhere, brakes not seized, nothing elso noticable.
Fan clutch not sure, at 3000rpm engine is noisy enough, that I cannot tell if the fan is roaring after few minutes or not.

Also, after about 30-40 minutes of hwy driving (110-120km/h), car is starting to loose power, and dies temporarily, than is ok for 20-30 sec than repeats again, until it dies completely, cannot start at all, until batter dead.

Car towed home, next morning car starts no problem and drives fine.
Any suggestions to the above problems (short of replacing the car).
