Radiator Leak? And... Volvo Care When Not Being Used? 200 1990

Hope everyone has been well...

The eBay Volvo has been holding up (knock on wood) pretty well. I took it on a couple of trips between NJ and ME with no problems. Actually, when idling (waiting in toll lines w/ the AC blowing) it started heating up sometimes, but not always. Then when the AC was turned off, it would be fine. Did that for a day and then was okay. We replaced the thermostat just in case though.

The thermostat was replaced on Sunday and when we were doing it we did spill radiator fluid all over the place. It sucked. In any case, got that cleaned up. But today when I was out I saw that there was a puddle under the car. I bent down underneath and sure enough there are two drips coming off of a metal piece underneath. I put a container under it. Later, we opened the hood to look around and saw nothing obvious. We thought that perhaps part of the spill had caught and was puddled in the car and was dripping, so we cleaned up again. No luck.

When running it doesn't lean anymore than when sitting and it's leaking just a few ounces per day. Sooo...question is, does it sound like a simple hole in the bottom of the radiator? We took off that big plastic thing that houses the big fan and looked around the radiator with a flashlight and found nothing. But we did not take the radiator out. If it's a leak, do I just buy a new radiator and have it replaced? If that is the case, what can I do in the meantime, if anything, while I find the time and money (I'm moving back to Maine on Monday)? Thoughts?

Also, I am lucky enough to have a walking commute in downtown Portland. The car will be sitting during the week outside. I'll probably drive around on weekends and occasionally during the week. Anything that I should keep in mind or do for the car since it'll be sitting so much? What about in the winter?

Thanks so much,

Julie
