Flame Trap 200 1989

I decided to check the flame trap today to see if it was clogged. On pulling off the thin vacuum hose on the flame trap that goes to the intake manifold, the nipple on the flame trap broke off. I put duct tape over the end and on the hose going to the intake mainifold. I have a new Flame trap set on order.
My question is, can I still drive the car until the parts get here next week? It starts up.
