Front Rotors 900

I replaced the front rotors on my 1996 960 about 24 months ago and have had to "turn" them twice since then, about 4 months apart. Can someone recommend the best rotors and pads. I also need to replace my back rotors and pads soon. Is this a common problem with Volvos ? 960's ?
