82 240 Dies on long trips 200

My daughter's 82 240 DL--it has the old CI? system with the fuel distributor--no electrical injectors. It died 2 weeks ago, got towed home. We replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay, car ran fine. Until a 2 hour trip on the interstate on a hot day--it died and wouldn't restart. Towed it home, replaced the little 30 amp relay on driver's fender (Safety Relay according to Haynes green book). Next morning it started and ran fine. Another 2 hour trip on the interstate and it died again & wouldn't restart. Towed home again--nothing done to it & it started and ran fine next morning. Could it be the ignition switch overheating--ideas?
