Changing just one engine mount 700 1989

You can do this without any modification. Essentially they are just solid rubber copies of the original equipment. I replaced mine with the solid rubber a few months ago. They seem to be fine, but if I had to do it over again I would spend the extra 20 bucks and do it right. I don't know why I always cheap out.

I would also recommend changing the mounts yourself using the 2x6 method in the FAQs. It's pretty easy to do. It's also fun telling your friends that you had to get parts to fix your car at home depot!

The tranny mount change was also easy to do, although you have to jack up the tranny in a different way then jacking up the motor. You can do it at the same time or not. But why not save the shipping costs and order all parts at the same time.

good luck
