Stiff Clutch 900

After owning a 240 Estate for 8 years I have now changed to a 1995 940 2.3 SE Estate. The car has been very well looked after and serviced by a Volvo dealer. One thing that I have noticed, is that depressing the clutch pedal is a bit stiffer than on the 240. The question I have is, "Is this a feature of 940 clutches or is some maintenance needed." The master and slave cyliders both still look like new and there are no signs of leaks or deterioration.
Some time ago I had a slight leak from the 240 slave cylinder, which I resolved by overhauling it and replacing the seals, apart from curing the leak it also made the pedal movement a bit easier.

many thanks.
