82 240 cuts out under a load 200 1982

Hi All,

I have an 82 240 Turbo that cuts out (doesn’t die) under a load or when accelerating quickly. It acts like a fuel problem and occasionally will blow black smoke when climbing and behave when it gets to the top of the hill. Both fuel pumps and filters have been replaced, fuel pressure checks ok, injectors measured, fuel distro center cleaned, new plug wires and distributor cap, vaccum leaks checked, compression is good and she runs very sweet in the shop, all measurements are right on. It has a couple of good Volvo mechanics stumped, (I trust them both). Neither of them are convinced that it’s not an electrical problem.
Any thoughts?

Regards,

Judy
