960 ran rough at start then smooth 900

Thanks for the info Dan965,

Our 95 964 w/149,300 miles could sure use the oil pickup
'o' rings replaced. Sometimes it sounds like a cement mixer in the morning when cold for the first few minutes, nothing else I've tried has lasted long to get rid of the ticking.

I have found the same situation as you have with regard to experienced technicians that really understand and know how to work on the 960/90 series. I have taken our two cars to independent Volvo(retired)mechanics as well as dealerships and they all act as if they rarely work on them. I guess there weren't very may sold anywhere in North America. Either that, or very few people bring them in for work. Most techincians I've talked to are whiz's at 240's and 850's but when it comes to the 960/90's...... they seem to be a little challenged. No disrespect implied. This has led me to do most of my own work on these cars. Lists like this one have been invaluable.
